If there is a season, the women of Middlebury College will start it in a familiar place.
The Panthers, who won the last Division 3 national championship in 2019, were voted the No. 1 team in the IWLCA preseason poll, receiving all 25 first-place votes. The IWLCA unveiled its preseason polls in Division 1, 2 and 3 on Monday, with 13 New England schools finding places in their respective top 25s.
Middlebury, national champion in 2016 and ‘19 under coach Kate Livesay, was 3-0 when last spring’s season was halted. Its lineup would include junior attack Jane Earley (Falmouth, Mass.), who was recently named D-3 Preseason Player of the Year by US Lacrosse Magazine.
