There are a number of reasons why Division 1 schools get so much attention from lacrosse fans, especially young players.
Those programs are the ones that can offer scholarships. They’re the programs that are on television the most.
They’re also the programs that have other iconic sports programs that kids watch with their parents or grandparents, who also grew up rooting for those teams.
Division 1 is the top level of the sport, but it’s not the only level, and the 2021 season is proving just how competitive some of the programs and players from Division 3 really are.
