High school lacrosse players and coaches in Massachusetts are getting their state tournaments.

Wednesday’s 14-7 vote by the MIAA Board of Directors opened the door for the first state tournaments sponsored by the organization since COVID-19 began disrupting seasons last March.

The decision came after the MIAA reviewed survey data that it recently submitted to principals and athletic directors at its member schools, and reverses the recommendations that its Tournament Management Committee made late last month when it voted to hold sectional tournaments but voted against holding state tournaments.
