The MIAA girls lacrosse landscape underwent some shifting in the offseason.
Several teams that regularly “petition up” to play in higher divisions either opted not to do so or missed petition deadlines. The result is a slimmer Division 1, a heftier Division 2 and changes to D-3 and D-4.
Teams took the field for their first formal practices this week and season openers are coming into view.
Here is a look at key changes in each division. Three of the four champions will be back to defend their titles, but they’ll have some different challengers to go through when state tournament time arrives.
