What happens when a pair of champions collide?
One walks away from the clash with more swagger.
Notre Dame Academy, last season’s MIAA Division 2 champion, took down two-time defending Division 1 champ Westwood on Tuesday, 16-11, to stake its claim as the best girls lacrosse team in the state – and one with a variety of weapons.
The Cougars (9-0) started fast, racing ahead to a five-goal lead at halftime and holding on, using a balanced scoring attack that saw six players record multiple goals.
