On Monday night, Charlie Bertrand heard his name called when the Connecticut Hammerheads selected him in the eighth and final round of the Major League Lacrosse collegiate draft.
Even though the games have stopped, Bertrand is still earning achievements.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound attack from Baldwinsville, N.Y., who led Merrimack College to back-to-back Division 2 championships before the program elevated to Division 1 this season, is the first Merrimack player ever selected in the collegiate draft.
