When it comes to high school lacrosse, Massachusetts is probably a notch below the state powerhouse that is New York. But that doesn't mean the MIAA is absent of some top-end teams and players – far from it.
Look no further than the college game, where former Lincoln-Sudbury star John Sexton (Sudbury, Mass.) was named the USILA's Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 after a stellar career at Notre Dame. Among current stars are former Hingham attackman Marc O'Rourke (Hingham, Mass.) at Bryant and UNC defenseman Will Bowen (Cohasset, Mass.), formerly of BC High.
To preview what's in store throughout the Bay State this spring, New England Lacrosse Journal conducted a preseason coaches poll. Nearly 30 MIAA coaches voted anonymously and then vote totals were tallied on our end to determine the order.
From No. 1 through No. 15, the full poll can be found below. Some honorable mention squads are noted, too.
