FOXBORO, Mass. -- The second game of the NCAA Division 1 semifinals at Gillette Stadium on Saturday started much faster than the first, with Syracuse getting on the board 51 seconds into the game as Owen Hiltz got his hands free on a lefty sweep to make it 1-0.
However, that would be the last bright spot for Syracuse.
Maryland would go on an eight-goal run to put some serious distance between itself and the Orange. Syracuse would claw itself back into the game with a pair of runs in the third and fourth quarters, but too little, too late.
Maryland will face off against Cornell here on Monday (1 p.m.). Our takeaways.
