Making the most of the season’s worst

If I’m around a lacrosse game, there’s always a notebook handy.

As a player and coach, it was for jotting reminders on something I saw. As a parent, it was about the specific things my daughter had asked me to look for in her game. As a member of the media, it’s for my job, and as a referee, it’s for the most memorable moments of the season.

Here’s a look at four of the outrageous behaviors — and the lessons to learn from them — that moved me to laughter, shock and madness this year.
