The following is an excerpt from “Major League Life,” which was published in June and is the first book by writer Phil Shore, a contributing writer to New England Lacrosse Journal since 2010.
Shore, a longtime lacrosse fan, began planning the book in 2018. He wanted, in part, to explore and share the stories of many dedicated individuals that were not getting the recognition or appreciation they deserved in Major League Lacrosse.
Starting with the Boston Cannons-New York Lizards game in Quincy, Mass., on June 1, Shore gives readers an up-close look at the 2019 season, where the MLL not only saw competition among its teams, but also from the rival Premier Lacrosse League, which was playing its inaugural season.
