Thornton Academy is again atop the Maine high school lacrosse world.
Ateam that did it with defense all year put the ball in the stick of its best offensive player when it needed one goal to win a title.
CJ LaBreck delivered like he has so many times before for Thornton Academy with his tally 42 seconds into overtime, bringing home the second consecutive Class A title with an 8-7 victory against Falmouth.
“He’s huge,” Thornton Academy coach Ryan Hersey said. “Some other kids get a lot of nerves when it gets to that part of the game. He wanted the ball the whole time.”
