Vince Lombardi is attributed with saying, “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”
After beating South Portland, 17-6, in the Class A championship game, not only did Cape Elizabeth win the title, it also secured a perfect 17-0 record for the 2023 season.
“We try to make a statement every single time we get on the field,” junior attack Sam Cochran told the Portland Press Herald. “We’re Cape lacrosse. We’re going to win it. And that’s our goal all season long.”
Keegan Lathrop contributed four goals and two assists, Bobby Offit had two goals and three assists, and Cochran scored three.
