In the Maine Class A state championship game, Falmouth came out scoring at a furious pace and maintained control of the contest to the end to earn a convincing 18-5 victory over three-time defending champion Cape Elizabeth last month.

“We were certainly building some momentum over the second half of the season,” said Falmouth coach Dave Barton. "We played some really good teams and saw some lopsided results.
“We felt really good about the way we were playing. We didn’t know exactly how it was going to go, what kind of game it was going to be. I remember texting the guys the night before the game and just saying, ‘I don’t know how it’s going to happen. I just know it’s going to happen.’”
