SPARKS, Md. — Notre Dame junior attack Madison Ahern (Cohasset, Mass.) is one of 24 players named to represent the U.S. during the Sixes competition at this summer’s World Games, USA Lacrosse announced on Wednesday.
Ahern, who starred at Notre Dame Academy, currently leads the Irish (4-6) in goals (32) and points (43) with six games remaining in the 2022 regular season
USA Lacrosse named 24 players (12 men, 12 women) who will represent the country at the World Games, a multi-sport competition that will feature over 3,600 athletes from more than 100 countries competing in 34 sports from July 7-17 in Birmingham, Ala.
The lacrosse competition will use the new Sixes discipline developed by World Lacrosse for events such as the World Games. Sixes is a fast-paced version of the sport played on a smaller field (70-by-36 meters), with fewer players (6-v-6), a condensed game length (four 8-minute quarters) and a 30-second shot clock.
