Local women shine across the country to start the season

This weekend marked the true start of the women’s Division I and II seasons. While many New England programs won’t take the field until this week, that didn’t limit the number of standout performances by New England based or native players.

Here are just five of those players:

Madison Ahern - Freshman attack, Notre Dame

The Cohasset, Mass. native had no trepidation about playing her first Division I game on Saturday, or if she did, she didn’t show it. Ahern had an impressive start to her college career with a three-goal, two-assist performance Saturday as she helped lead Notre Dame to an 18-3 win over Marquette.
