DEVENS, Mass. — The Legacy Tournament is always a huge showcase for club teams from New England.
In fact, there were so many Double-A teams that I had trouble seeing all of them, but one thing was clear — the clubs that sent their best teams cleaned house. Others still had decent showings, but didn’t top the standings.
However, these tournaments are more about the players getting recruiting looks than anything else, with high-profile squads from Laxachusetts, Eclipse, 3D New England and the Fighting Clams on hand. I was also able to watch squads like Coyotes and Team CT.
With the Class of ‘27, I tried to focus on the higher-level clubs and their best players, and there were multiple iterations of those squads. This is the big recruiting summer for these rising juniors, and the best of the best will be getting calls on Sept. 1.
