Last month’s cover story in New England Lacrosse Journal may have cursed the most up-and-coming region of prep school lacrosse. At least, that’s what my direct messages and email have been telling me.
Curses aside, the Lakes Region’s spot in the prep school hierarchy is in its ascendency, though after the first two weekends many were calling for a recall of that branding.
Now that we’ve settled into the season a little bit, a clearer picture is coming into focus. Maybe the Lakes Region isn’t full of world-beaters, but one or two upset losses does not define the overall achievements of a team. The season is young, but it’s no longer in its infancy.
There is still plenty of time for the Lakes Region teams to grow up and take their rightful place in the prep school hierarchy. Let's take a look at who could win, should win and will win.
