When Laconia High School’s lacrosse program began in 2002, it didn’t take long for it to assert some dominance in New Hampshire’s Division 3, rolling out three straight state championships from 2003 to ’05.
In the years since, the division has become much more staunch and the level of play has risen, forcing the Sachems to have to wait 11 years between titles, as they regained the crown in 2016.
Now, after missing their opportunity to repeat in 2017, they are hungry to return to the top, behind a balanced attack anchored by defensive stalwart Drew Muzzey, a complete athlete whose compete level seemingly has no bounds and helps guide the group on its one-day-at-a-time mindset.
