Perhaps the biggest impact one of the leading goal scorers in the country makes for the UMass women’s lacrosse team comes when the Minutewomen don’t even have possession of the ball.
Not quite yet, anyway.
Kiley Anderson ranked fourth in all of Division 1 through nine games played this season with 4.56 goals per game. Yet, in the one game she sat out with an ankle tweak against Dartmouth on March 16, it was her presence on the draw that was sorely missed as UMass suffered a 19-7 defeat.
The Killingworth, Conn., native returned to the field for a half of a 20-9 victory at Davidson on March 22, before a 22-14 triumph at Virginia Commonwealth two days later in which Anderson won a career-high 16 draws.
