Kevin Lindley's freshman season at Loyola Maryland wasn't poor. Not by any means.
After all, it's hard to categorize finishing third among Division 1 freshmen in goals (37) as anything but that.
However, the Darien, Conn., native knew his marching orders going into the summer: get stronger and bulk up. A strict, protein-based diet and weightlifting regimen later, the sophomore attackman said it's mission accomplished. His net gain? Fifteen pounds.
"The first wake-up call was doing 1-on-1s the first day as a freshman," Lindley said. "In high school I could beat guys on speed. Then once I got jabbed here, I was in the parking lot. I was like, 'OK, this needs to be addressed.'"
