PHILADELPHIA -- Monday's NCAA men’s lacrosse championship between Notre Dame and Maryland was moved up to a noon start the night prior to avoid the worst weather, but a two-hour weather delay hit just after the final notes of the national anthem were sung and both teams retreated to the locker room.
All that did was push the fireworks of Division 1’s most important game of the year back a few hours. Mostly Notre Dame fireworks.
And Kavanagh fireworks.
Former Taft star Chris Kavanagh finished with five goals and the Most Outstanding Player award when the confetti fell. After the game, he reflected on his time playing with his older brother, Pat, for the last few seasons.
