PHILADELPHIA — If you're a Maryland fan, you know that 12 goals are a high number for the amount of control the Terps exert over most contests.
Thanks to a mixture of tempo and possession control, Maryland overtook Virginia, 12-6, in the second NCAA Division 1 semifinal on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Terps will play Notre Dame in the national championship game on Monday.
Connor Shellenberger of UVA started off the scoring in spectacular fashion 55 seconds in, scoring a no-angle goal on a casual run from X that found the top of the far pipe and fell behind the goal line.
