It was an intense battle for much of the Independent School League season, with a handful of teams in legitimate contention before the path cleared late for St. Sebastian’s to make a little history.
Sitting at 12-0 in league play with three games remaining on the schedule, the stars started to align when St. Seb’s defeated Brooks for a share of the ISL crown, before winning it outright for the first time in program history with a victory over Thayer.
Then came the opportunity for something no Arrows squad had ever accomplished. With a one-goal lead over Roxbury Latin, senior Jac Campanelli picked up a ground ball, cleared it through traffic and ran down the clock in the 9-8 win, putting St. Sebastian’s at 15-0 in league play, 18-0 overall, their first undefeated campaign.
