As a recent interview with Duke graduate students Joey Manown (Saundersville, R.I.) and Sean Lowrie (Foxboro, Mass.) was coming to a conclusion, Manown had a request.
“At the end, if you can put that I have better facial hair,” he said, before the two broke out into laughter. Manown was sporting a mustache and goatee combination, while Lowrie had a groomed full beard.
The comment was made in jest, but it was an example of the competitive nature the players on this season’s Duke team have.
