It started with toilet paper, but today it can be nearly any item that’s out of stock, back-ordered or available in limited quantities.
This season — and potentially for the next few years — the problem comes to the lacrosse field, as there is going to be a distinct dearth of quality bench players and substitutes.
This is not a problem that impacts the pros and the college teams, or even the powerhouse high school and prep programs, but every other team from youth ball to school to club is going to be facing a shortage of quality bench players. The kids who aren’t the lax rats and stars, but whose presence is critical to filling out a quality roster.
