My worry for the 2021 season isn’t the coronavirus, the long layoff and lost development affecting young players, or the fragile finances of some lacrosse businesses.
It’s a brewing storm over officiating.
This is not another piece on how there is a shortage of game officials and how it is creating significant problems for the growth and development of the sport.
No, this is about what’s likely to happen on the fields and sidelines if we get a “return to normal” and are able to play games in front of fans, picking up and trying to recover from the interruption that was COVID-19.
