It was getting late on a Monday afternoon last month when Will Milewski got the text that would change his future.
Milewski, a standout close defender/long-stick midfielder at Tabor Academy, was set to take his game to Furman University, a Division 1 program in Greenville, S.C.
“One of my buddies texted me and said, ‘I think there’s something bad happening at Furman,’” he said.
Jackson Klein, a senior defender at St. John’s Prep who was also committed to Furman, was playing Xbox when he received a text from a Furman assistant coach asking him to join a zoom call at 4 p.m.
