When Jack Pappendick announced, on social media Wednesday night, his commitment to play lacrosse at Duke, it wasn’t just another milestone in his career.
It was also more evidence that the program at Buckingham Browne and Nichols is growing.
Three years ago, Pappendick was one of two eighth-grade starters on the BB&N varsity, pressed into service at a day school whose enrollment of 500 doesn’t include an unlimited pool of players.
That coincided with Mike Derrenberger’s first year as an assistant coach, and the new coach recognized something among the young guys.
