In order to move forward, the Rivers School boys’ lacrosse team is turning to its past.
Head coach Justin Walker, entering his 20th season at the school in Weston, Mass., has brought on former Rivers star Sam Cleveland as his offensive coordinator for the 2020 season.
Cleveland, a native of Arlington, Mass., was a two-time ISL All-Star at attack for Red Wings before attending Colgate University, where he led the team in scoring each in each of his four seasons on campus before graduating last spring.
In addition to Cleveland, Rivers returns Andrew Navoni as its defensive coordinator. Navoni played under Walker in the late 2000s prior to attending Curry College, and was a member of the 2009 team which won the Red Wings a share of their only ISL championship to date.
