At Noble and Greenough, there was a routine before home games that involved standout goalie McCrae Williams delivering a loud battle cry as his team took the field.
"We’d step onto the turf and he’d just let out a massive yell — ‘Let’s go!’ or something like that," Nobles senior Hayden Cheek said. "We knew we were ready to play."
It will be different — not just quieter, but more somber — when Nobles plays rival St. Sebastian’s on April 6 at Harvard Stadium.
But it also will be very significant.
