Last March, Molly Laliberty headed into the new season with some lofty expectations. Prior to her junior season for Tufts, the Newburyport, Mass., native was selected as the Division 3 Preseason Goalie of the Year by US Lacrosse Magazine.
In some ways, it was a bold prediction, especially considering the fact that Laliberty had seen only limited time between the pipes. As a freshman, she split playing time but started only two games. As a sophomore, Laliberty started and won all three games before the season was wiped out by COVID.
Regardless of a lack of a meaningful sample of previous playing time, the experts were ultimately proven right.
