In June of 2022, the Wahconah Regional (Mass.) High School boys lacrosse team defeated top-seeded Sandwich, 8-7, to win its first-ever MIAA championship.
Head coach Joe O’Neill posed for a picture holding the trophy alongside his son, Billy, who scored two goals in the championship tilt.
A little more than a year later, the O’Neill father and son posed for another championship trophy, this time as the Paper City Oaks defeated the Cambridge Nor’easters, 11-10, to win the North American Box Lacrosse League's New England Division and advance to this weekend's national tournament.
