In the MIAA, there are some legendary league rivalries fans look forward to each year.
Duxbury vs. Hingham. St. John's Prep vs BC High. Lincoln-Sudbury vs. Acton-Boxborough (actually, we don’t see that one every year anymore -- but that's a different story).
Even with these classic conference clashes, some of the best matchups of the year come when out-of-league opponents square off on the turf; however, actually getting these non-league battles to happen can actually be very difficult.
Several factors affect coordinating these games, the first of which is league schedules. Teams cannot start to schedule their non-league opponents until they have their league schedule finalized, and sometimes that can take a while.
