All of Sophie Majernik’s cross-country accolades count for very little when she plays club lacrosse.
“It’s funny,” said the Noble and Greenough star senior midfielder. “Our club coaches joke that cross-country is not great for lacrosse because it’s not the right running. It’s not that sprinting change of speed you need in a lacrosse game. But it’s improved my endurance and that’s such a mental edge.”
For the third year in a row, Majernik and Nobles have run away with the Independent School League.
Entering the season's penultimate game today against Rivers, the Bulldogs are 16-1-1 overall and have won all 13 games they've played against ISL opponents. Three of those wins came over the weekend in the ISL tournament.
