Did you know that the best faceoff man in Division 1 is a New Hampshire kid who plays in Rhode Island?
No surprise, because it’s Nathan Laliberte (Auburn, N.H.) of Bryant, and the man has been a faceoff legend for years -- to the point where he was whispered about in faceoff circles as the guy who won 92 percent of his draws one year.
However, it’s really this season that Laliberte has been able to overcome his injury history to become the No. 1 draw man for the Bulldogs.
“I've had three knee surgeries now,” said Laliberte. “One my junior year of high school, where I tore my ACL and meniscus. Freshman year of college I sustained a big knee injury where it was the ACL, the LCL and the MCL. And in November, I had a minor contact injury after a drill, and a dime-sized chunk of cartilage in my knee broke off, so I got that scoped out.”
