The 2022 lacrosse season was a breakthrough year for many programs and players, maybe none more than Boston University.
The Terriers won their first Patriot League title, and made their first NCAA tournament berth, since the launch of their program in 2014. It’s been a battle for the respect and recognition that often is hard to come by for programs that aren’t blue-blood programs, and the Terriers will try keep that fight alive this spring.
BU returns almost every starter and impact player from a year ago, including goalkeeper Matt Garber (Westport, Conn.), last season's Patriot League Goalie of the Year.
He attended Staples High School, a program that just a year ago finished the season ranked as the top public high school lacrosse team in the nation after beating Darien in the Class L final.
