Early last week, as Army prepared for Penn State, its quarterfinal opponent in the NCAA tournament, defensive players learned who they would be matching up against in the game.
Freshman John Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.) drew graduate student Jack Traynor. With 31 goals and 16 assists, Traynor was second on Penn State in points.
Sullivan was excited for the challenge and immediately pored over film, looking at tendencies to determine where he was going to attack from.
His readiness proved invaluable.
