Fairfield Prep (Conn.) graduated one of its top senior classes in years following the 2023 season, a group of nearly 20 that included some of the best players in Connecticut.
With a class like that, some may be expecting a letdown. But don’t expect it on the defensive end, not with recent Dartmouth commit George Hawley back in the mix.
The 6-foot-4, 165-pound Hawley, a senior who will head to Dartmouth after a PG year, has been on the field for Prep since his freshman year. That first season he played for the freshman team in a game against Darien, and head coach Graham Niemi got word that he was a standout in the game.
Hawley’s length and speed made him hard to miss on a lacrosse field, and his ability had him playing for the Fairfield Prep varsity in short order.
