CJ Costabile’s journey as a champion is somehow overlooked.
After this weekend’s PLL championship victory with the Chaos, the longstick midfielder from New Fairfield, Conn., has now won a championship at every level. There has been a high school state championship with New Fairfield, an NCAA championship with Duke (where he scored the game-winner in overtime), an MLL championship with the Bayhawks and now a PLL championship.
There are very few players in the history of lacrosse who could match those career achievements. Yet, Costabile isn’t known as much for his accomplishments in the sport.
He’s productive, not flashy. A team player, not a superstar. It's not a surprise to anyone who knows him.
