In recent years we have gotten used to seeing the same teams in the MIAA Division 1 mix in late June, with the Catholic Conference juggernauts and the perennial public powers like Lincoln-Sudbury, Acton-Boxborough and Hingham.
This season, one team out of the Merrimack Valley League is making a strong case to put the state on notice and insert its name as one of the mainstays we can expect to see come June.
Here's why we think Andover is a team to look out for this year in the MIAA.
Through the weekend, Andover had amassed a record of 4-2 against a gauntlet of a schedule, with its only losses coming to powerhouses St. John's Prep and A-B.
