A year ago, the lacrosse world was focused on the class of 2027.
On Sept. 1 --- the old date that boys lacrosse prospects became eligible to commit to Division 1 college programs --- the top '27s in New England began to make their plans to play at the next level.
And while the '27s were navigating busy phone lines and email chains with college coaches, the '28s --- who embarked on that journey on Wednesday --- were perhaps just as active in their recruitment.
Even though coaches can begin to commit players on Sept. 9, the recruiting process started long before then. The ‘28s who were proactive about their college process a year ago are the ones who are best prepared for this week.
It begs the ultimate question: What should the ‘29s be doing to get ready for their first contact date a year from now?
