In 2022, Longmeadow (Mass.) High School put together as picture-perfect a lacrosse season as possible.
A team coming off a heartbreaking championship loss the season prior? Check. Double-overtime shootout to win the MIAA Division 2 state title the year after? Check.
The Lancers strung together a storybook, 23-1 season in 2022, something not lost on head coach Keith Campbell.
"It was just beautiful," Campbell said. "It was everything you could ask for from an execution perspective by a group of young men. It was done in practice and carried over game after game after game.
