Every lacrosse season in the MIAA has a dark horse. That one team that no one wants to play for some reason or another.
In 2023, that team is Marshfield.
Following a season-opening loss to unbeaten Duxbury, Marshfield rattled off five straight wins, including stunners over Medfield and Cohasset. Over the last two seasons, the team finished a combined 17-17 in the always competitive Patriot League.
But the Rams' strong 5-1 start this season has the state on notice and is their best since 2019. According to head coach Kevin Orcutt, nothing should be shocking in MIAA Division 1 this season.
