It was a long time coming.
That was the sentiment about the 2022 season from many that were a part of the Harvard women’s lacrosse team, especially Callie Hem (Needham, Mass.).
After two ACL injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out her 2020 and ’21 seasons, Hem finally got to showcase her talent, and it was well worth the wait.
“It is like Christmas morning,” said Harvard head coach Devon Wills. “It was like there was this prize right here that we knew there was so much potential and so much talent in, but it was always like, ‘Oh, we’re at, you know, 50 percent or 80 percent.’ ”
