Reed Rezanka grew up in San Diego, which -- at the time -- was not a hotbed for lacrosse. He didn’t start playing until middle school, and he wasn’t highly recruited by Division 1 schools while in high school.
His guidance counselor, however, had played women’s lacrosse at Endicott College and knew the men’s lacrosse head coach, Eric Hagarty, as did his high school coach, Brendan McCarthy. Rezanka visited the school in Beverly, Mass., and fell in love, going on to earn 2021 All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors.
On Aug. 28, Rezanka was drafted in the fifth round of the NLL Entry Draft by the San Diego Seals. He became the first player from Endicott to be drafted into the NLL. It was an unorthodox journey to the pros for the defender, but Rezanka proved there isn’t just one path to success.
