The recruiting process can be exciting, visiting schools and thinking about your future. It also can be stressful making such a big decision. If you don’t rush the process, however, you could wind up very happy, much like Bryant attackman Marc O’Rourke (Hingham, Mass.).
O’Rourke put a lot of thought into what school he wanted to attend, considering both athletic and academic ventures, and chose Bryant. On the field, he was a starter from Day One, starting all 15 of the Bulldogs’ games. He scored three goals and added two assists in his college debut, a win over Manhattan, and scored 11 goals in his first two Northeast Conference contests.
He finished the season as the team’s leader in goals (33) and points (48), and he was named the NEC Rookie of the Year. Not only did he enjoy a successful season on the field, but the locker room also became his favorite place on campus thanks to the time he got to spend with his friends, his new teammates.
