It had been a long time coming for Jack Lyne (Concord, Mass.). Ranked by Inside Lacrosse as the No. 78 recruit in the Class of 2017, the former Middlesex School standout played in only two games at his dream college from 2017-19 due to injuries.
In 2020, finally healthy, he earned a spot as a starting defender, only for the season to be canceled after only six games.
So many setbacks may knock some people down, but Lyne -- recently named a team captain -- remembers the lessons about mindfulness one of his high school coaches taught him, and is focused on contributing to a successful Johns Hopkins season that begins with Saturday's opener at home against Ohio State.
