There are changes happening — and coming — to the Colby program, and coach Guy Van Arsdale likes how they are all beginning to come together.
Recently, the Mules have made some significant strides on the field. They finished sixth in the NESCAC to make the conference tournament, which is not an afterthought at Colby. But Van Arsdale, with a young team last year, sees that momentum carrying over as the offseason progresses this fall.
"We did it, primarily, with 75 percent of our roster were freshmen and sophomores," Van Arsdale said of his team that finished 8-7 in 2019. "We were very encouraged by where we're headed and the young men we have coming into the program now, and their skill and talent, and maybe more importantly, their passion to be good and be part of a good team. All those things are heading us in the right direction. I think we're in a real growth moment for our program. I think it's something that we're very excited about taking more steps forward."
