Nick Marrocco (Duxbury, Mass.) was at a Boston Bruins game with family and friends when he saw the news moving on social media.
It was the news he was hoping for, but it was certainly not guaranteed.
Marrocco (Duxbury, Mass.), who backstopped the Boston Cannons to the MLL championship last summer; and former UMass standout Sean Sconone, who cemented his status as an elite goalie with his performance with the Connecticut Hammerheads, were the only two goalies selected in the three-round, 24-selection draft that was held Thursday night.
