Nearly 100 girls from the region have been selected to represent New England and Connecticut at the Under Armour All-American Underclass Tournament later this month.
Players tried out and were selected for two New England teams and two CONNY (Connecticut/New York) teams, with rosters of 23 players each.
The CONNY teams will play in a Super Regional in Chester, Pa., on Aug. 27-28, along with teams from New Jersey and Philadelphia. The New England teams will compete in a Super Regional against teams from Long Island and Upstate New York at a site and date to be determined. Regional winners advance to the fall national championship.
